J'adore Clemence Poesy

I have a serious girl crush on this woman. Clemence Poesy has that cool, effortless, not-trying-too-hard-but-all-the-while-still-looking-chic aesthetic (read: very French) that I dig. Note to self: take a leaf out of her book.

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2010-2011

Aren't these Fall/Winter 2010-2011 ads for Louis Vuitton gorgeous? The photos were shot by Stephen Meisel and represent three decades of "eternal femininity": 41-year-old Christy Turlington, 31-year-old Karen Elson, and 28-year-old Natalia Vodianova. Kudos to Marc Jacobs for featuring such a charming trio of loveliness. I don't know about you, but I, for one, am ready for the fashion pendulum to swing toward a more classic, ladylike aesthetic (I am so over the mini-skirt-and-gladiator-sandals trends of the last few years). Summertime

Over the weekend, T's sister and her two adorable children stopped by for an all-too-brief visit. It was a 24-hour whirlwind of happy, carefree moments that truly typify the summer months: picking flowers in the park, watching the planes take off from the Santa Monica airport, frolicking in the ocean waves (little G shows us how it's done), gobbling up chocolate croissants at Huckleberry. Re-discovering the world through the eyes of a small child....you can't get more life-affirming and present than that. Here's to many more such moments this summer.

Whether you're spending this holiday weekend on a towel at the beach, in a cabin in the country, or heating it up on the mean streets of the city, I want to wish you all a very happy 4th of July weekend. And to my friend Taryn, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
