A love letter to Colin Firth

Oh, Colin Firth, how I love thee. I was chuffed to bits (to use an expression from your blessed homeland) to see you win an Oscar for best actor for The King's Speech. The film was clever and winningly entertaining, and you were marvelous in it. And in interviews you come across as incredibly genuine and charming, intelligent, kind, and self-deprecating in a way that only a British gentleman can truly be. I can't think of anyone more deserving of this honor than you, my dear. Congratulations!

P.S. You will always be Mr. Darcy to me.

Nailed It

The ravishing Mila Kunis nailed it at last night's SAG awards. Hands down best-dressed of the night, in my opinion. She looked lovely, ethereal and goddess-like in her gauzy Alexander McQueen gown. I'm so looking forward to seeing what she has in her bag of ticks for the upcoming Oscars!

Wonderful Surprise

Mary-Laure, whom I often mention here (she of the beautiful and insightful blog Aurea) recently presented me with two blog awards. As you may have guessed, this totally made my day. Even if I'm nowhere near the vicinity of "hip", it's nice to dream. Thank you, Mary-Laure!

I'm delaying awarding other blogs because I'm a bit shy about tagging/awarding people (lame, I know). I think I'll take a bit of time pondering 10 great blogs to award. Which really shouldn't be very hard, as the blog world is chock full of interesting, talented people whose creativity I drool over daily. TBA!
